So, I bought an Odyssey Stroke Lab Black Big Seven Arm Lock, thinking it might be my answer. Weird as I am not the nervous type but just can't get my head out of the stroke. When I started back I grabbed the short putter I had and within no time the yippers were back. I think with age has come the ability to think about the stroke more clearly. Took one lesson and am striking the ball pretty well. Took care of the yips immediately and I got pretty decent with it.įast forward 18 years to today. Finally, on one hole I took the putter back and could not bring it through! What kept me playing was a change to a broomstick putter. My buddies remember that I put the ball 4' from the hole on a Par 3 and three putted. More than that, I fought massive issues with the putting yips. I took some lessons from a well regarded instructor but they didn't translate to the course. I played to a ~17 handicap, BUT I could shoot an 80 or a 100 and couldn't tell what was different. George the day after the open won by Ben Curtis. Funny enough, when I quit in 2003 I recorded an ace that year and also spent a week in the UK, playing with buddies, and our last round was at Royal St. but also a lot of frustration with my game back then. Long time golfer, now 66, who just ended an 18 year (!!) break from the game. Ok, I'll open the discussion as I wait for the grip to arrive.
